Krakow Cultural & Development Organization (KCDO) is a local civil society organization working in West Pokot and Baringo Counties in north western Kenya.

Our mission is to support the Pokot people to creatively respond to the challenges facing their lives and landscapes by working directly with those from the community whose voice is determined and committed.

Krakow Cultural & Development Organization was established in the knowledge that the Pokot people, and Kenyan pastoralists in general, have a bright future. But we believe that future is under threat if we do not value our own voices and use them to make positive changes.

‘Krakow’ (or ‘Krakou’) is a Pökoot word meaning a dry stony landscape. It is also the name of an area in Pokot North District.
